My goal is to create personal, creative and affordable blog templates and web pages without sacrificing quality.

I am self taught and learning more and more every day. When I look back at some of the first templates I made, I am proud of the progress I’ve made in less than 2 years. Seriously, here is an example of one of my first templates.

I started out with Blogger templates and it was a great learning ground. But, when they switched to the new wigetized style, I felt stifled there and began learning WordPress. But before it all, I made my own website with 100’s of pages… way back before people had even heard of blogging.

Besides templates and web pages, I will also be posting about different plugins, tricks, scripts, help websites, etc. I hope you find them helpful.

Thanks for stopping by & you can always Contact Me or leave me a comment here or in the Q & A section if you have a question.

WordPress Automatic Upgrade

This plugin is neck in neck with Akismet in the number one must have plugin position. This plugin will make upgrading your blog such a snap. I have used it on more than 100 blogs now (I’m in the process of updating the 200 hosted blog I just recently finished) and have not had one single bit of trouble.

You can download it here.

Here are the step to follow…

  1. Export (Manage >> Export)
  2. Activate WPAU Plugin
  3. You will now see an extra pale yellow bar at the top that says: Click Here to Automatically Upgrade WordPress to latest Version. Click on the link.
  4. Click on the link in the line: Great the preliminary checks of your server is complete and WPAU is ready to roll. Click here so that we can start the upgrade. I do not recommend skipping this process.
  5. Download the .zip. It’ll have a funky name like wpau-files-bak-svmvyAan, I recommend that you rename the last chunk so you know which blog it belongs to if you have more than one. IE wpau-files-bak-yourblogtitle
  6. Click the link to go to the next task.
  7. Tick all boxes to include all the extra tables & click on Start DB Back up.
  8. Download & rename the .zip
  9. Click the link to go to the next task.
  10. Click Lets Go
  11. Click the link to go to the next task 3 times.
  12. On this page there is a link named “CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE FINAL STEP”. You can actually skip that and click the link to go to the next task. When it tries to go to the next step, it will take you through the process of the final step link anyways & it won’t open you up in another window, which gets confusing because you have to go back to the original widow to finish.
  13. Click on Upgrade WordPress
  14. Click on Continue
  15. Log Back In
  16. Click on the final Go to next task link
  17. Click on the link in the pale yellow bar to clean up files.
  18. Double Check That all your plugins are activated. Some, like “get recent comments” for some reason don’t reactivate.

Congrats! Your WordPress is now up to date!

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
